Héctor Zamora and Pedro Reyes have been selected to participate in the 13th edition of Mercosul Biennial.
Made from chromatic compositions based on color theories, this new work by Héctor Zamora arises as a direct response to the characteristics of the buildings that delimit the Travessa Rua dos Cataventos, a street in the historic center of Porto Alegre: in addition to the spatial singularity created by the unevenness between the two facades, the balconies create an effect of approximation between the two sides of the street, evoking the clotheslines that can be found in the streets and pedestrian paths of many cities of the world, particularly in popular neighborhoods. This type of clothesline breaks the idea of privacy by unintentionally but consciously displaying the clothes of the inhabitants.
The work seeks to create a unique experience of walking down this iconic street, transformed by colors and their dance with the wind. The artist creates a moment of colorful joy to offer the viewer a sensorial experience through a play of wind, light and color.
