Gala Porras-Kim and Antonio Vega Macotela have been selected to participate in the 34th edition of São Paulo Biennial (Brazil), “Faz Escuro mas eu canto” (Though It’s Dark, Still I Sing), opening in September, 2021. The announcement was recently made official and we are delighted to be sharing it with you.

Gala Porras-Kim (Bogota, 1984) investigates the political, social, economic and spiritual factors that determined the value of objects during the history of colonialism. The artist's analysis ranges from the violent processes of extracting and circulating such objects, to the methodologies of storage and classification used by the collectors and/or cultural institutions that receive them, especially museums of history and anthropology.
